Who's who

We have a wonderful team of folk who keep the church running day-to-day. They are ably supported by a team of elders and deacons, who together form the leadership of Heaton Baptist.

Rev. Dave Tubby - Minister

Dave joined us in 2018 and has a real passion for seeing Jesus changing lives. He has a community heart and believes that church should be looking to serve beyond itself. Committed to the wider area, he currently serves as Chair of Heaton Community Network - a group of local, community leaders with a desire to work collaboratively to serve the area. He has also served as a Governor at Chillingham Road Primary School and as a Trustee for Northern Baptist Association.

Married to Rachel, he has two children and is a Brentford fan. When he's not in church, he's probably out walking somewhere, and enjoys spending time with his family on the beautiful Northumberland beaches or hills. 

James Girling - Youth Ministry Team Leader James leads our youth ministry here at Heaton Baptist and is married to Anna, he hails from Nottingham and is therefore a huge Forest fan! When not watching or playing football he can be found either up a mountain, taking photos or eating ice cream. James has a huge passion to see young people’s lives transformed by Jesus and loves journeying with young people in their faith as well as leading our ever increasing and gifted youth team!
 

Elaine Watts - Office Manager
Elaine is the one who really keeps the Heaton Baptist Church ship steering safely. She is the face that you're most likely to meet if you come to the Life Centre during the week, and she knows where everything is.

Our Trustees serve in their post for three-year terms, and our elections take place in our Annual Church Meeting in May each year.
