Mission
One of our five core values is to be Missional. We do this through a number of ways, supporting local mission work, as well as further afield. We seek to provide practical help and support wherever we can, and we are committed to doing everything we practically can to bring the Gospel into the communities we're based in.
Each year, we nominate four Mission Partners, whose work we support through the year. This year's Mission Partners are:
- Betel Hexham
- Christians Against Poverty
- Lert Sa Wat
- Safe Families.
Betel - www.betel.uk
Betel are a national charity, whose local work in Hexham we support. They provide practical, residential support for those seeking to escape addiction.
Christians Against Poverty - www.capuk.org
CAP are committed to helping people escape from poverty, by providing support, advice and guidance. They provide centres around the country, where that support can be easily accessed, and we have a number of CAP centres locally that we seek to refer to when necessary.
Lert Sa Wat - www.lertsawat.com
Since May 2000, Lert Sa Wat has provided education, food and medical help for children from poor families in the North East of Thailand. Education is the main way of escaping poverty, and ensuring children do not become trapped in a life of drug & alcohol abuse or prostitution.
Lert Sa Wat has:
-
A Sponsorship programme to enable children to attend school and further education
-
A Nursery school for children aged 3-6
-
A small Children’s Home family

If you would like to sponsor a child for £20 per month, share sponsorship or find out more about Lert Sa Wat, visit our website: lertsawat.com or email Maureen Wallhead on lertsawat2000@gmail.com. All donations go directly to the Project. There are no UK admin charge.
Safe Families - www.safefamilies.uk
Safe Families is a Christian charity that started in the UK in the North East in 2013 and since then they have supported over 9,000 families in the UK. Safe Families believes that no one should feel alone, and they exist to create relationship and connection because everyone deserves to belong.
Their dream, like ours is to see lives transformed by finding belonging in their communities, in a church family and in God’s family.
Safe Families support families with and through their army of volunteers, of which there are several of in our church! They offer hope and transformation to families who often simply just need a friend.
Global mission
We support international activities and crises as the need arises, and we are passionate about encouraging our church to be actively involved in missional opportunities around the world. We have a fund available for those connected to the church, either for short-term mission opportunities or something longer-term.
