We run a specific programme just for kids alongside our regular Sunday Services at 10.30AM.
Junior Church is for children aged 0-11 years, and is a place where they can hear and learn the Christian message and have the opportunity to grow in their faith. Our vision is to Grow Faith - connecting children to God, Have Fun - making memories and Strengthen Family - providing a place to belong.
The children are split into the following groups:
Creche (0-3). Children under 6 months are welcome but must be accompanied by their parent/carer at all times.
Beginners (nursery and reception)
All Stars (Years 1-2)
Livewires (Years 3-4)
Lasers (Years 5-6)
Grid (Years 7-9)
ID (Years 10-13)
Our Youth page covers more information about what goes on for Grid and ID.

All of our lead volunteers are DBS-checked and have received Safeguarding training. All of our ministry is done in accordance to our HBC safeguarding police which you can read here
There are also a range of other activities for children which we run, summarised below.
Messy Church is an alternative gathering where worship, teaching and prayer happen in creative and interactive ways that appeal to all ages. We usually get together once a month on a Sunday afternoon to explore Biblical themes through craft, enjoy a short celebration and then share a meal together. It's a great way to explore faith in low key and creative ways. One of the significant parts of Messy Church is the new friendships and sense of belonging people get from coming along.
Hiz Kidz aims to provide a fun environment for men (Dads, Granddads, Male carers) and their children ( 0-11yrs) to chat, play and eat together. There's usually games and a craft of some sort (sometimes with hammers and saws!) followed by a cooked breakfast!
Hiz Kidz is usually on the 3rd Saturday of the Month, 10-12am at the Heaton Baptist Church Life Centre.
Our parent and toddler groups aim to provide a safe environment for children to play and for the parents/carers to meet other parents/carers too. Groups run twice a week on a Monday and Tuesday from 9.30 to 11.30 and taster visits can be arranged.
